Jorge
Casimiro is CEO of University Development, Inc. (UDI) a land development
company. Casimiro has led the company since 2001, growing its
revenues from $3.6 million in assets to $40 million within a three-year
period. Casimiro's success in growing UDI has been the result
of executing a strategy which focuses on the definition and creation
of new markets for his customers. UDI projects its growth to continue
through 2008, incorporating ever-changing product lines.
Mr. Casimiro’s leadership and stewardship have yielded impressive
external recognition which he credits to his employees. These
recognitions include: the Houston Business Journal recognizing
both of Mr. Casimiro's companies in Houston's 1,000 Fastest Growing
Small Businesses in 2000. Mr. Casimiro was the only executive
whose companies received dual recognition in 2000.
His ventures have been listed in Hispanic Business magazine's
"Top 100 Fastest Growing Hispanic Owned Businesses”
since 1994 and "The 500 Directory of the Nation's Largest
Hispanic Owned corporations."
In 1996, former President George H.W. Bush presented Mr. Casimiro
with perhaps his finest honor - the "United States Hispanic
Businessman of the Year" Region III award bestowed by the
United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Casimiro is one of four recipients of the Blue Chip Award,
a recognition of the United States Chamber of Commerce, Connecticut
